“Thanks to Phil for all his help with our move. Much appreciated”
Downtown high-rises and neighborhood walk-ups each come with their own rulebook. A Loop condo tower runs on a reserved freight-elevator window and a certificate of insurance filed in advance; a Lincoln Park greystone gives you one narrow staircase and a gangway barely wide enough for a dresser. Jamal Pierce, our downtown high-rise chief, sorts all of it out ahead of load day.
Where we move most
- Loop and Streeterville condo towers with reserved freight elevators and loading docks
- Lincoln Park and Lakeview greystone three-flats and second- and third-floor walk-ups
- Wicker Park and Bucktown two-flats with tight stairwells and narrow gangways
- River North and Gold Coast high-rises that want a building COI before move day
Bridget Nolan files the certificate of insurance your condo association or management office spells out, reserves the elevator car, and runs protective covers down every shared hallway and lobby. A two-mover truck is $149 an hour and a three-mover truck $209, one-hour minimum, with pads, dollies and wardrobe boxes loaded from the start.
